Marketing Calculator

Ever wonder how much a business should spend to drive traffic to its website? Well, every business is different. Our calculator can help you define the budget that’s right for your business.

Average Gross Profit per Customer Information The average sales-per-customer minus the variable costs required to generate the sales. Your variable costs are usually the labor and materials needed to make your product or fulfill your service. If you generate repeat revenue from your customers, calculate your gross profit per customer over a time period, such as a year, or calculate the total lifetime value. Most businesses have different types of customers, so you can start by using an average of all customers, or run the calculator for each type of customer if you have the data. $
% of gross profit that you are willing to spend to acquire a customerInformation In order to grow your business, you will need to invest in acquiring customers. How much would you be willing to spend to get a new customer? A good way to think about it is to consider how much of a customer’s expected gross profit would be spent in acquiring that customer. This rate varies by industry and how aggressively you want to invest in growth, but typically runs between 10 - 40%.
Website conversion rate Information The percentage of visitors that turn into leads by contacting you. Every business should track the origin of their leads. To calculate your conversion rate divide the number of leads your website generated by the number of unique website visitors over the same time period. Conversion rates vary by industry and marketing tactics, but are typically between 2 - 15%.
Lead close rate Information The percentage of leads that you close into customers. Lead close rates vary by industry but are typically between 10 - 30%. Note: if you have an E-commerce website, set your lead close rate to 100% and use your actual website sales conversion rate (the percentage of visits that make a purchase on your site) in the box above.
