Every time someone types a search into Google, an auction happens in a flash behind the scenes, with all advertisers who are interested in that keyword competing for real estate on the search results page. You only pay when someone clicks on your ad.

In Google Ads, keywords are words or phrases that are used to match ads with the terms people use when they search. We’ll suggest keywords that capture customers searching in different ways, including:

  • Customers who know exactly what they want
  • Customers who don’t know the best way to search for something when they first learn about it
  • Customers who might be impacted by unexpected world events

These terms and queries that Google think are related will trigger your brand to compete in the ad auction when someone in your area searches for them.

Yes. If you have one, just grant access. If not, we’ll create one and share access should you terminate services with us at any point. This ensures you always retain full ownership.

We typically recommend $1,000 to $3,000 per location per month for local service campaigns. Ecommerce or national brands may need more. We’ll help you right-size your spend based on your goals and market.

Absolutely. Increases can take effect immediately. Budget reductions are scheduled for the 1st of the following month to keep reporting clean. We suggest giving it at least 90 days before making changes so we can gather meaningful data.

Yes. Your budget is a ceiling—not a guarantee of full spend. You set the maximum amount you’re willing to invest each month, but if the campaign doesn’t generate enough clicks or leads to use that full budget, you’ll only be charged for what you actually get. This helps ensure you don’t overspend while still giving your ads room to perform.

We suggest starting with at least $1,000 per campaign each month for strong results. If your campaign doesn’t generate enough activity, you might spend less than that. We’ll provide a custom budget recommendation tailored to your goals in your proposal.

Google bills you directly for ad spend based on the number of clicks generated: your entire budget goes to the platform. You’ll enter your payment method into your ad account at setup and whenever you need to edit payment information. For security, we never manage or store your billing info.

You can follow these steps to edit or update your payment method:

  1. Sign in to the payments profile.
  2. Click Payment methods.
  3. Choose Add or Edit payment method.
  4. Enter payment method details and follow any instructions.
    • If you’re adding a card: You may find a small “pending” charge on your bank account. This helps Google verify your card. It will disappear later and won’t affect your account balance.
    • If you’re adding a bank account in the United States: You might be asked to verify your account through instant verification, where you securely share your banking credentials with Google for 24 hours. If you have trouble using instant verification, try the test deposit.
  5. Choose Save.

You can follow these steps to edit or update your payment method:

  1. Go to your Payment settings in Ads Manager.
  2. In the Payment methods section, click … Options next to the payment method you want to edit.
  3. Select Edit from the dropdown menu.
  4. Make your changes and then click Save.

Your payment method is updated.

Organizations may be required to provide 2 different types of documentation for advertiser verification: organization registration documents and a government-issued photo ID from an authorized representative. Acceptable documents include:

Registration documents:

  • Any document, notice, or letter either issued by the IRS or stamped by the IRS that states your Organization name. Some examples are CP575, 147C, CP299, 988, 937, 1050, 5822 etc.
  • Forms submitted to the IRS will only be accepted if a copy of the form is available on the IRS website. Some examples are Forms 8871 and 990.
  • Certificate of Business Incorporation issued by the state where you conduct business activities that states your Organization name
  • Your most recent SEC filing (e.g., 10-K, 10-Q or 8-K forms) that state the Organization name
  • Business credit reports that state your Organization name from Experian, Equifax, or TransUnion

Authorized representative’s government-issued photo ID:

  • Passport
  • State identification
  • Driving license
  • Permanent resident card or Green card

An authorized representative is an admin of the Google Ads account and/or the payments profile paying for the ads.
