Google Search Results Get a Makeover

Today, Google revealed a brand-new look and layout for its search results. In addition to a cleaner, simpler logo and overall design, Google is also sporting a spanking new, dynamic left-hand navigational bar that adapts to the type of search performed to provide users with a wealth of related search options. With more than 70 percent of all Internet searches performed on Google, these changes could significantly affect the way most users find information on the web, as well as search engine optimization.

The new, adaptable side panel provides quick and easy search access to the tools most relevant to their search. With just a few clicks, users can filter search results by category, including news, images or blogs or choose to view all search results that come up under a keyword. Users can get the latest information on a topic from multiple sources, including Twitter and Facebook. Users can even choose from searches related to their own from the Google Squared panel. With each search, the navigational bar adapts to provide users with the most applicable search options to help them find the information their seeking more efficiently.

So how will Google's makeover affect your SEO? With so many search tools at their fingertips, users potentially will have more ways to find your businesses in search results. It's wise to familiarize yourself with all the search tools available and how you can use them to your advantage to increase your website's visibility.
