Cost Per Click Marketing or CPC / Pay Per Click Advertising or PPC – Buying keyword terms on the search engines for high placement in the Sponsored Links areas.

CPC listings on Google are at the top of the search results, as well as in the column on the right-hand side of the page. Placement of these ads and their appearance in the listings cost nothing. Website owners are only charged when someone clicks on their ads and goes to their website. The fee for each ad depends on the targeted keyword term. Usually the most expensive terms show the highest conversion rates, a “conversion rate” being when that visitor converts to a lead or sale.
